Quantus Baseball
Baseball Stats Reimagined
About
QuantusBaseball is an open-source data project that provides chess-like MLB team elo ratings. A team's rating is generated after each game, their change in rating is based on their opponents rating, the result of the game, and the point differential.
Live Updates
Game results accompanied by how they affect a teams rating can be found on our BlueSky page. Live results operate on about a 20 minute delay.
The Formula
The formula is nearly identical to a standard Elo formula you'd find in chess or video games, except for one small change, the K-Value. The K-Value determines how much impact a win or loss has on a teams rating. Typically, K-Value is static. In Quantus, the K-Value is dynamic, and dependant on score differentials. The bigger the point differential, the greater the punishment or reward.
